As we approach a new NMJL Card in about a month, I have a mahjong challenge for you!
If you started marking your NMJL Card for 2025, keeping track of the first time you won each mahjong line, you have the next 30 days to try to win the hands you haven’t won yet. Really take some risks and push yourself out of your comfort zone to try to force fit the hands you’ve never tried.
If you’ve not yet marked your NMJL Card, then I have a different mahjong challenge for you… when you get the 2026 National Mah Jongg League Card next month, each time you mahj a hand for the first time, put a little dot next to that line.
This helps you see what hands you’ve played and won and which hands you haven’t. As the year goes on, you will see patterns in which sections you go for and which you stay away from. If you want to improve your mahjong strategy, pushing yourself to try new hands always helps!
