Correcting the 2025 NMJL Mahjong Card Misprints: Everything You Need to Know

April is here, bringing that exciting New-Mahjong-Card-Feeling! Mahjong players everywhere have eagerly awaited the arrival of the 2025 National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) Card. However, as the first batches began landing in mailboxes, a surprising discovery was made—both the Standard (small) and Large Print versions contain misprints.

What Are the Errors on the 2025 NMJL Card?

The NMJL has confirmed two printing errors, one on each size of the card:

• Standard (Small) Print Card Error – 2-4-6-8 Section

• • The third line under the Evens category contains a misprint, on the right-hand side.
  • It is printed as: FFFF 2468 222 222
  • It should be: FFFF 2468 222 222 (Any Three Suits)

• Large Print Card Error – Consecutive Run Section
  • The third line down on the right-hand side has a misprint.
  • It is printed as: FFFF 1111 22 3333
  • It should be: FFFF 1111 22 3333 (Any Three Suits)

The League is Reprinting 2025 NMJL Cards

The National Mah Jongg League has announced that corrected versions of the 2025 card will be reprinted and mailed to NMJL members. So, if you ordered directly from the NMJL, they will reship your card with the corrections. However, they have not provided an exact shipping date for these replacements. If you ordered from another place, like from us or from your local instructor, you have the option to wait for the reprinted cards or to purchase the original version as-is.

How to Apply the Fix

1. Purchase 8.5" x 11" sticker sheets (compatible with home printers). I bought these from Target, and also found this option on Amazon.

2. Print the correction stickers using your home printer.

3. Cut the stickers to size.

4. Place them over the misprinted sections on your NMJL card.
